This summer we have been busy preparing the farm for our Michigan Medical Marihuana Facility License application. The farm is a beautiful, secluded, undeveloped 1.6 acres in the Ypsilanti area. One of the first things we did was repair the drive back so we could begin preparing the property for the design phase. Installing electric and water utilities is at the top of our list of things to do. There is a greenhouse framework that we will refurbish. We will also construct fencing and install security systems. One of things we are most excited about is designing and building our rolling office – a "tiny house" type structure on a trailer that will serve as our office/meeting space that we can move around the farm as needed.
Everything will be designed to be as sustainable as possible and we will source the needed resources, including labor and materials, as locally as possible as well.
We know this work is going to take some time and that we have a ways to go before we get through the permitting and licensing phase. So, we started the farm by creating a flower garden in the open field and welcomed two bee hives - we named them Bonnie and Bucket.
We have a lot of work to do but are thrilled to be finally doing it. Check back with us and watch our progress!
